A new Harvard Business Review article says that we live in the most age-segregated society ever and that it's contributing to "widespread ageism rooted in stereotypes and sustained lack of contact between old and young." The authors, Marc Freedman, CEO of Encore.org, and Trent Stamp, CEO of Eisner Foundation, cite several initiatives aimed at uniting the generations.
One such initiative is Nesterly, an EBN and Gen2Gen partner, which helps older householders rent spare rooms to younger helpful housemates. This intergenerational homesharing program is expanding in the Boston area and looking for help in getting the word out. Download their digital toolkit, let people know about this opportunity and help disrupt age segregation!
