This updated report, compiled by the Gerontology Institute at UMass Boston, provides a look at information about how people over 65 are faring in communities across the state. The data focus on community engagement, health, mental health, housing, transportation and other factors that affect healthy aging. Among the highlights of this year's findings are:
15% of the statewide population is now over 65, an increase of 125,000 since 2015.
Overall, this group is younger, better educated and more diverse than in 2015.
Where you live matters -- some communities are better for healthy aging than others.
