EBN: Get to Know Age-Friendly Employers
Concerned that employers will automatically reject you because of your age? Fortunately, there's a growing list of employers that understand the value that people over 50 contribute, from hard skills to judgment, stability and empathy.
Join us for our fifth Age-Friendly Employer Forum to meet representatives from employers who have taken specific steps to be designated age-friendly. They will describe the types of jobs they have available and why they value people over 50 in their workplaces.
The panel will feature employers that are Certified Age-Friendly Employers (CAFE), according to Age-Friendly Institute, and have signed the AARP Employer Pledge. Learn more about these programs and how they can help you find other age-friendly employers.
The forum will be moderated by Jody Shue, MPH, Executive Director of the Age-Friendly Institute. In this role, she oversees the CAFE program, as well as others operated by the Institute. She was previously director of Age-Friendly Rhode Island and teaches at the BU School of Public Health.
These sessions have been attended by hundreds of people over 50 in search of jobs. They are hosted by Encore Boston Network and brought to you in collaboration with AARP Massachusetts, Age Strong and Age-Friendly Boston, Age-Friendly Institute, 50+ Job Seekers of MA, Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs, and Operation ABLE.
